Greek toilet paper

I am submitting work to an Australian magazine called WIPE, where all art should be on sheets of toilet paper. I need to find a strong paper for this and today I bought four different brands of Greek toilet paper rolls in my local grocery store.

Sofia in the store looked at my goods and smiled and then laughed.
I wonder what she was thinking. Then she said:
- Your family has left now?
- Yes, yes I am here by myself on the island, I said.
She laughed again, and still I wonder what she was thinking.

Her English is not perfect and my Greek is bad so I refrained from trying to explain what I was going to use the paper for.

It's not easy to explain anyway...

Greek door - rubber stamp

I made my first Greek rubber stamp, an image of the blue door to our house here on the island. Made with my usual rubber stamp material and with ink and a stamp pad from Dionysios' shop in the port.

Trumpet Player

I made a new rubber stamp and I based it on an image of Miles Davis from 1971, a favorite period of his music.

Sent to Bifidus Jones

I sent this to Bifidus Jones in the US, in reply to the incredibly beautiful postcard he sent me. My drawing is titled "Waiting for the Postman". You know the feeling?
